Een groot deel van Rotterdam zit in thuis sinds de maatregelen van het kabinet. Rotterdammers kunnen niet zomaar de straat op, omdat alle horecagelegenheden gesloten zijn en culturele evenementen niet meer door gaan. Daar hebben een aantal Rotterdammers een oplossing voor bedacht.
Verschillende dj’s gaan live via Instagram of Facebook zodat de mensen thuis alsnog kunnen genieten van een show. Rotterdamse DJ en illustrator Franky Sticks ging donderdagochtend live met een DJ set.

Roufaida Aboutaleb bedacht met Rotterdamse artiesten een ander initiatief waarbij Rotterdammers elkaar kunnen helpen. In samenwerking met artiesten creëerde zij een afspeellijst op Spotify genaamd ‘Huurtoeslag voor muzikanten in 010’. “Mijn collega’s zagen hun agenda’s leger worden. Ik dacht ja, dit wordt een pittige periode.” Wanneer mensen de muziek beluisteren via het streaming kanaal, krijgen de muzikanten telkens een vergoeding.

Roufaida is op zoek gegaan naar verschillende Rotterdamse artiesten en heeft deze lijst door hun laten invullen. “Ik ontdekte zoveel toffe dingen in Rotterdam. De Coronacrisis is een manier om de wereld bij elkaar te brengen. Je ziet dan hoe divers Rotterdam is.”
